Bow Ties Are Cool

Have a question? Well, I've got answers.
(if you tag me, please use the tags bowtied or bowtiedrp, as bow-tied doesn't work well in the tracked tags.)

Rule #408:
Always waste time when you haven't got any!

I'm called the Doctor. I'm a time-traveller, a hoper of far-flung hopes and a dreamer of improbable dreams. Bit of a madman, admittedly, but at least I'm far more exciting than lamps and vegetables.

So what are you waiting for?
Come along, Tumblr.

If you refer to the TARDIS as “it” not “she”, I probably dislike you.

The Doctor and Chuck

notsodeadgirlcharlottecharles:

bow-tied:

“Yes, right, of course,” the Doctor humoured her, raising his eyebrows at her with a small smile, “allergic. I’d say you’re a bit more allergic to him than he is to you, though, wouldn’t you say?”

“I guess you could say that,” she said. “You could say that I’m deathly allergic. But you know, don’t you? The allergy thing is just what we tell people, well, Olive, when they ask why we don’t touch.” Chuck didn’t like this. Was the Doctor like Dwight Dixon? What if he gave away Ned’s secret, and hers?

“Bingo- but you’ve been so concerned about that that you completely neglected what I tried to tell you earlier.” The Doctor finished off the pie on his fork before setting it down to focus on the conversation. “You’re not normal, Ned’s not normal… Clearly I’m not normal, either, although I’m not-normal in a completely separate way from how you two are not-normal. At least you’re human.”

spaceginge:

bow-tied:

[Surprised, the Doctor whirled around to face her, then took a quick step back as he frowned at her, reaching up to tug at his ear.] Did you sneak on board last time I stopped by Leadworth? Blimey, Pond, that was ages ago- why didn’t you say anything?

[Thinking he was just being silly, Amy rolled her eyes.] Very funny.

[Taking the stairs two at a time, Amy hopped up next to him.] So. Where are we going?

[The Doctor just stared at her for a moment, tilting back a bit on his feet as she came closer before standing back up straight, his lips pursed slightly in confusion and his forehead furrowed in thought. He spoke slowly as he tried to sort his thoughts out.] Uh… welllll… I hadn’t really been thinking about anywhere in particular.

Oi! Are we going somewhere or not? [Amy asked impatiently.]

You know, if Eleven is in love with Amy, I bet he’s really frustrated about Rory.

lightsthatguideus:

I mean, that chap just doesn’t die.

The only problems with this post is that I’m not in love with Amy, and I certainly wouldn’t want Rory to die, even if I was.

Which I’m not. In case I didn’t quite make that clear enough.

giggleatacrimescene:

Amy: You save everyone, you always do, that’s what you do. The Doctor: Not always. I’m sorry. Amy: Then what is the point of you?

(ooc: this scene. This scene KILLS me, because, you know, it’s little things like this, little reaffirmations from the people he loves, that really hits home to the Doctor. He already hates himself, for all of the mistakes he’s made, for all of the decisions he’s had to make when other people couldn’t, for all of the people whose lives he’s caused, directly or indirectly, to be lost…
But when people he considers his friends ask him “Why couldn’t you stop this?” or “Why didn’t you do that?” or “Why can’t you fix this?”, when they start to question in around that hazy fog around him that makes him seem like this extraordinary man who does these extraordinary things and they realise he’s just as powerless as anybody else…
And that’s why, when Amy is adamant that they crash that van regardless of this being the dream or not, the Doctor goes along with it. Because for all he knows at this point, this is real- this is it- and he doesn’t care. Not really.
Because if he can’t even protect Amy and Rory, if he can’t really protect the people he loves the most… then what is the point of him?)
